CCTV appeal after man glassed and beaten in Liverpool nightclub
It happened on the dancefloor in Levels
Police have released CCTV of two men they want to speak to after a man was glassed over the head in a club in Liverpool.
It happened early last month on the dancefloor at Levels on Fleet Street.
At around 12.30am on Sunday 2 July, it was reported that a man was struck to the head with a glass or bottle and knocked to the ground. He was then kicked when he was on the floor.
The victim required hospital treatment immediately after the attack after sustaining a deep cut to his face and a dislocated shoulder.
Since the assault, witnesses have been spoken to and extensive CCTV enquiries have been conducted at the nightclub and the surrounding area in the city centre.
Detectives have issued CCTV images of two men they wish to speak who could assist in their investigation.
Detective Inspector Chris Carlin said:
“This was an unprovoked attack in our city centre that left a man with significant bleeding from a serious injury to his face.
“It is only thanks to quick thinking staff, who applied first aid, and medical professionals at hospital that the consequences were not even more serious for the victim.
“Everyone should be able to feel safe enjoying the nightlife in our city, and we are working to find those responsible and bring them to justice.
“I am appealing to the men shown in these CCTV images, or anyone who recognises them, to come forward as we believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.
“Similarly, if you saw the assault or any of those involved in this incident please contact police as soon as possible.
“If you have any photos or footage on your mobile inside Levels from the night of Saturday 1 July into Sunday 2 July, and believe it may be useful, then do let us know as any information you hold could support our enquiries.”
