CCTV issued after shop worker assaulted in Liverpool

Police are asking for help locating the man in the photo

Police have issued an image of a male they would like to trace following an incident in Liverpool yesterday, Monday 24 June, in which a shop assistant was assaulted.

At around 4.35pm a male is reported to have entered Friend Mobile store on London Road and began arguing with and making threats towards a member of staff.

He then reportedly slashed the staff member across the face with a knife.

The assistant, a man in his 20s, required hospital treatment for his injury.

The offender is believed to have made off on foot down Camden Street.

An investigation is underway and witness, forensic and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area.

Police have issued an image of a man who we believe could assist with our investigation.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “We are carrying out a number of lines of enquiry and would appeal to anyone who recognises the male pictured to contact us as a matter of urgency.

“We are also appealing to anyone who was in the area of London Road or Camden Street around 4.30pm yesterday who saw anything or has any information which could assist our investigation to get in touch.”
