Police have issued CCTV images of several people they want to speak to, after a woman was left with nerve damage following an attack in a Liverpool bar.

The victim was an innocent bystander having a night out in Hebbie Jeebies on Seel Street in December when she was hit by a bottle thrown during a fight.

Detectives say a fight broke out on Tuesday 29th December at around 2.20am between two groups of men at the bar, during which one of the men threw a bottle towards the opposing group.

The bottle missed them but hit the woman, causing a deep cut and nerve damage to her forehead. Police believe five men can assist with their investigation, and they've issued the first CCTV images of them today - along with an image of the injury the victim suffered.

Liverpool CID Detective Inspector Phil Mahon said: “This mindless violence has left a completely innocent woman with permanent nerve damage, and also understandably traumatised to have been attacked when on a night out with friends. Incidents like this are thankfully rare, but we are determined to bring the person responsible to justice and to continue to ensure that law-abiding members of the public feel safe in Liverpool City Centre. “We are keen to speak to all of the men pictured to help us in our enquiries and if you know any of these men, I would urge you to contact police immediately.” Anyone with information is asked to call Liverpool CID on 0151 777 4094, call 101, or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
