Police have released CCTV images of a man they're searching for after an 'unprovoked' assault at a bar in Liverpool in March.

It happened just after 11:50pm on March 8 on Victoria Street. A man was hit in the face with an object, suffering a deep cut to his face. He required treatment in hospital.

Inspector Joanne Jacob of Merseyside Police said: “This was an unprovoked attack in our city centre that has left a man with a serious injury to his face.

“Everyone should be able go out and feel safe in our city without the fear of being attacked and we are working to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

“I am appealing to the man shown in this CCTV footage, or anyone who recognises him to come forward as we believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.

“Similarly, if you saw the assault or the victim involved in this incident on Monday night please contact police as soon as possible.

“If you have any photos on your mobile of the incident or CCTV footage from the night of Monday 8th March then do let us know as any information you hold could support our enquiries.”
