Merseyside Police detectives are investigating a suspected arson after two vehicles were damaged in the Allerton area of Liverpool on Monday night, 19 September. Around 10.50pm, police and MFRS attended a house on Cedar Close following reports of damage to a Porsche and a Range Rover. Police and fire investigation officers attended and extensive enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances. Detective Chief Inspector John Webster from Liverpool CID said: "We are treating this incident as suspected arson and are keen to speak with anyone in the area who saw or heard anything suspicious around 10.50pm on Monday night. We believe that two men were seen running away from Cedar Close towards Calderstones Park after the fire broke out, and CCTV enquiries are underway to further identify them. "This would have been shocking for neighbours to witness and any information they can provide may be vital in our investigation. I would like to reassure the local community that this type of incident is rare and we are determined to find those responsible and bring them to justice." Anyone with information about this incident should call Liverpool CID on 0151 777 4065, call 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
