Murder arrest after woman found dead at house in Liverpool

A 42-year-old man from Sefton was taken into custody

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a house in Liverpool.

Emergency services were called to a concern for safety of a woman at an address on Brewster Street, Kirkdale at around 8:05am on Friday 27 September.

The woman, in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene and is yet to be formally identified, Merseyside Police said.

Officers are now undertaking house-to-house enquiries in the area and forensic officers have been investigating at the scene.

A post-mortem examination will take place to establish her cause of death, the force confirmed.

On Friday evening, detectives arrested a 46-year-old on suspicion of murder. He was taken into custody to be questioned.

Detective Inspector Sara Lang said: “I would really like to urge anyone who may be a victim of domestic abuse, or know someone who is a victim, to please reach out for help.

"We take reports of domestic abuse extremely seriously, and we are here to listen and support you and bring perpetrators to justice.”
