Police have charged a 12-year-old boy and three teenagers with murder in Tameside

A 12-year-old boy and three teenagers have been charged with murder after a man in his 40s was assaulted outside a McDonald's restaurant in Ashton-Under-Lyne.

The youngest of those charged was arrested on Sunday morning (31st July) along with another youth aged 17, after the earlier arrests of two boys aged 16.

Police were first called shortly before 10.50pm on Wednesday (27th July 2016) to an assault, which reportedly began outside the McDonald's on Warrington Street in the town centre.

A man in his 40s, who hasn't been formally identified was found injured and died a few hours later in hospital.
