The body of former Warriors and Saints forward Bryn Hargreaves has been found in America. His family have confirmed his death in a post on social media.

He disappeared in 2022, having failed to turn up for work, leading to a large scale police search in Cheat Lake, West Virginia.

The former prop made his debut for Wigan Warriors in 2004, and after a loan spell at Leigh Centurions, moved on to Wigan's rivals, St Helens.

He played over a hundred games for the Saints, and established himself as a regular in the first team.

After a season at Bradford Bulls, Hargreaves retired from professional rugby and moved to the States to work in the oil industry.

On his disappearance in January 2022, his family believed there could be potential criminality, and they set up a GoFundMe to pay for a private investigator.

In a statement on social media, his brother Gareth Hargreaves says, "With incredible sadness I can confirm after 14 months we have found Bryn.

"We still do not know the cause of death or what happened. Thanks to all those that have helped in the search. We would appreciate a little space and will keep you updated when we have any further information"
