Body found in Southport marine lake
Merseyside Police have issued an appeal for information after man's body discovered in marine lake.
Merseyside Police detectives are issuing a second appeal for information after the body of a man was found in Southport on Saturday morning, 4 June. At 8.55am, member of the public reported seeing a body in the water at Southport Marine Lake. Police, the ambulance and fire services went to the scene and the body of a man was recovered from the water. The man is described as white, between 45–55 years, around 5ft 8in tall, with short light hair, medium build with a prominent belly. He was fitted with a catheter, and has bushy eyebrows, light stubble, and was wearing a dark grey / black jumper, a purple and white hooped polo shirt underneath, dark blue jeans, with a brown belt, grey socks, and blue Nike trainers approximately size 10. Extensive enquiries have been made across the north west region to identify the man and to establish the full circumstances of his death. Detective Inspector Robbie Moss from Sefton CID said: "Our enquiries remain ongoing but we would urge people to contact us if you recognise the description as being someone missing from home, and to share this appeal as widely as possible."
