Body found on Formby beach identified as missing pensioner
Police say his death his being treated as unexplained
Merseyside Police have confirmed the body of a man found at Formby beach on Friday is that of missing 77-year-old Robert Ferdinand.
A man's body was located by officers at around 2.50pm, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say he has since been identified as Mr Ferdinand, who had been reported missing on Tuesday.
Officers are supporting his family.
His death is being treated as unexplained and the case has been referred to the coroner’s office.
