Body found in New Brighton
Police are investigating after the body of a man was found near to Leasowe Lighthouse in New Brighton.
Emergency services are in New Brighton after the discovery of a body there this afternoon. At around 12.25pm, the coastguard reported to police that a body had been found near to Leasowe Lighthouse.
Police, fire, the coastguard and ambulance are in attendance. Whilst the body is yet to be formally identified it is thought to be that of a man. An investigation is underway to establish the identity of the man and the circumstances surrounding his death, which is being treated as unexplained at this time.
