Bereaved Liverpool mum urges kids to 'Take Care for Bobby'

As mental health awareness week continues, a bereaved Liverpool mum is launching a new campaign to help kids right across Merseyside cope with life after the pandemic.

Six year old Bobby Colleran died in 2014 after being knocked over on his way home from school, sparking the Slow Down for Bobby Campaign.

Now, his family are asking us to 'Take Care For Bobby' and are working with schools to make youngsters more aware of their well being.

Bobby's mum Jo says she's seen first hand how hard it is dealing with things at such a young age :

"There's all the different types of anxiety that comes with what's happened to my children but also on a day to day basis with exams, pressures from football, fall out with their friends and it really impacts children.

"It's so important that we talk about it and do something about it.

"A lot of children are feeling quite sluggish from lockdown and they haven't been able to do anything so it's key, once you exercise, you feel good and it's all good for your brain.

"It helps me and my family an awful lot; he didn't die for nothing and he's going to make changes and so far everything we've done in his name has been a great success".
