Unseen footage from The Beatles is teased in new documentary trailer
Over 60 hours of unseen footage from 1969 has been used to create the documentary
Unseen footage from The Beatles last ever recording session has been teased in the trailer for the upcoming documentary, The Beatles: Get Back.
The docuseries tells the story of the January 1969 sessions, where the band attempted to write 14 new songs in preparation for their first live concert in over two years.
The Disney + exclusive is made entirely from never-before-seen, restored footage directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg in 1969, it provides the most intimate and honest glimpse into the creative process and relationship between John, Paul, George, and Ringo ever filmed.
Three-time Oscar-winning filmmaker, Peter Jackson, has had nearly 60 hours of unseen footage shot over 21 days and from more than 150 hours of unheard audio to pick from while creating the series.
The Beatles: Get Back will feature, for the first time in its entirety, The Beatles’ last live performance as a group, the unforgettable rooftop concert on London’s Savile Row, as well as other songs and classic compositions featured on the band’s final two albums, Abbey Road and Let It Be.
In the trailer, Sir Paul jokes: "It's going to be such a comical thing like in 50 years' time. They broke up because Yoko sat on an amp."
The tracks were originally intended for release on an accompanying live album.
The documentary was first teased back in December last year, when a 'sneak peek' was released on Youtube.
The Beatles: Get Back will have a three day roll-out on Disney +, with each instalment dropping on November 25, 26 and 27 2021.
