Baby hospice in Liverpool to close at the end of the year
Zoe's Place will shut down, with bosses saying there is not enough time or money to relocate
There's been shock and sadness amongst staff at a Liverpool baby hospice, which has announced it is to close.
Despite fundraising efforts for a new premises, Zoe's Place in West Derby will shut down at the end of the year.
Based on Yew Tree Road, the hospice provides respite, palliative and end-of-life care for babies and children up to the age of five.
With their current lease coming to an end in nine months time, a massive fundraising drive for a new premises was well underway.
Plans had been approved for a move to a former villa close by on the former bowling green in Hayman's Green.
