Arrests after brawl in Concert Square

10 people, including 8 from Germany have been arrested and one person is in hospital after a mass brawl broke out on Concert Square last night

A number of roads were closed by officers after a fight between members of the public and door staff just after 11.20pm.

One man suffered a head injury and is said to be in a stable condition.

Police have closed off parts of the square and Wood Street while an investigation take place.

Harrison Bellis, who's from Wrexham, but lives in a flat on Wood Street said:

"We heard loads of shouting, at first we didn't think much of it because it was just chanting, and we didn't know what to do"

"It got a bit more intense, and as we looked outside there were people grabbing bar stools and all sorts of different weapons."

"There was also loads of security, that seems to go on down towards Popworld, where there was just someone lying on the floor"

Police say a 23 year-old man from Walton and a 28-year-old man from Toxteth and eight German nationals, aged 25, 27, 27, 28, 31, 31, 34, 50, were arrested on suspicion of public order offences.

They have been taken to police stations in Merseyside to be interviewed. 8 men
