Appeal for witnesses and images after pedestrian hurt in Anfield accident

A man in his 50s suffered serious leg injuries back in April

Merseyside Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was hurt in a collision in Anfield on 22 April 2023.

It was reported at 5.30pm that the man had been involved in a collision with a silver Vauxhall Tigra car at the junction of Anfield Road and Walton Lane.

The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, suffered a serious injury to his leg and later underwent surgery at hospital.

The vehicle stopped at the scene and the driver is assisting police with enquiries.

We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV, doorbell and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.

Officer in charge of the investigation, PC Gareth Milbourne, said: “This was a serious collision, and we’re keen to speak to any witnesses as a result.

“The pedestrian was left extremely shaken after the incident and suffered a serious leg injury.

“The incident happened shortly after the end of Liverpool’s home game against Nottingham Forest, and there would have been a large number of people leaving the ground who may have seen what happened. Any information, no matter how small, could help the investigation.

"If you were passing the location and saw or captured the incident on CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage then please share this with police."
