Police are appealing for information following a burglary in West Derby on Friday, 12 February. The incident took place at around 7.30pm when the thieves broke into the house and stole a number of items including a laptop, an X-box, and IPad. The offenders also stole a Samsonite suitcase, which had a Hugo Boss suit and a high-value engagement ring inside. The ring is described as a platinum ring, with a diamond and a mint green tourmaline cluster by Boodles. It has the letters B&D etched on the shank. Detective Constable Chris Cook said: “The theft of this ring is obviously very upsetting for the owners, not only is it a high-value item, it also has a sentimental value to them and they are keen to get it back. “It’s possible that the offender(s) might have tried to sell this on, and I’m sure if you’ve seen this distinctive item of jewellery you’d remember it. I would urge anyone who might have seen this ring or anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
