72-year-old woman dies after being hit by car in Bootle

Police were called to Brewster Street at around 7:45pm last night

An investigation is underway after a woman's died in a crash in Bootle.

Emergency services were called at 7.45pm following a collision between a blue Ford Focus and a 72-year-old woman pedestrian on Brewster Street, near to the Brewster Street Garages.

The injured woman was taken to hospital, where she sadly died a short time later.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

Chief Inspector Andy Foster, said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. We are also appealing to any motorists who may have dashcam footage to get in touch.

"The woman's family has been informed and are being supported by officers."
