Lancashire Police have arrested an eighteenth person as part of our investigation into the death of Matthew Daulby in Ormskirk.

A 20-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested last week on suspicion of conspiracy to commit violent disorder. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The arrest comes as officers continue to look for Thomas Dures, 19, who they want to speak to as part of our ongoing investigation.

Last week Crimestoppers issued a reward of up to £10,000 for information given exclusively to the charity that leads to the arrest of Dures, who has links to Aughton and Liverpool and may be using the name Thomas Brown.

At 12.05am on 29th July last year, our officers attended Railway Road in Ormskirk to reports of an ongoing disturbance.

Nineteen-year-old Matthew was found a short distance away with stab injuries. Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, Matthew sadly died later in hospital.

A post mortem examination established that the cause of Matthew’s death was a stab wound.

So far we 12 people have been charged as part of the investigation.

Finley Cook, 20, of Heskin Lane, Ormskirk, and Henry Houghton, 18, of Barrison Green, Scarisbrick, have been charged with Matthew’s murder and have been remanded into custody to stand trial at Preston Crown Court on 19th February 2024.
