Liverpool thrashed Norwich City 3-0 at Carrow Road Stadium last night, to make it through to the fourth round of the EFL Cup.

Two slick goals from Takumi Minamino sent Liverpool through to the fourth round, with Origi also hitting the back of the net to end his 12-month goal drought.

From last night's winning side, three members made their senior debut for the football club.

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, said: "We saw Conor Bradley tonight, he had a super game. And Kaide Gordon, he's ready for these moments."

Last night's clean sheet could have been different had Norwich City's Christos Tzolis scored his 42nd-minute penalty, which Caoimhin Kelleher saved with his legs.

Joe Gomez lead the charge last night, wearing the captain's armband for the first time after an eight month tendon injury in his left knee that put him out for most of last season.

The Liverpool captain said: "It was a massive honour (to be captain). Obviously after the period I've had, the different injuries and coming back, I'm relishing every minute and on top of that, to be able to captain the side was unbelievable. I really enjoyed it.

"We knew it wasn't going to be easy, but to come away with a clean sheet and be as clinical as we were was really positive."

The England international completed his second 90 minutes of the season last night, after he also started the recent Champions League victory over AC Milan.

Despite the win, Jurgen Klopp says that there still could've been improvements to Liverpool's performance last night.

The Liverpool Boss said: "The start was good from us, and then we could see the whole front six never really played together, so the defending there was not great. But we scored goals and kept fighting. I liked it. It's a cup game, you've got to score goals in the right moments and that's what we did."

This is the second time Liverpool have beaten Norwich City 3-0 this year, after putting three past them on their opening game of this year's Premier League season.
