14-year-old boy rushed to hospital after being knocked down by bus in Widnes

Police are appealing for any potential witnesses and video footage

A 14-year-old boy's in hospital after being knocked down by a bus in Widnes.

It happened near to Widnes library on Victoria Road at 4:40pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 4th May) by the junction of Kingsway and Moor Lane.

Firefighters were also called out and spent over an hour freeing the teenager.

The boy's now in Alder Hey Hospital, where his condition's described as critical but stable.

Investigations are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone with any information that may aid their investigation.
