Singing ‘How Long Will I Love You’ and ‘Explosion’, Ellie consumed the vast stage in a 600 square foot dress that illuminated by a stunning light show.
With a circumference of over 33 metres and an 11-metre diameter, the dress took three people five days to construct.
During the performance there were four puppeteers hidden under the material making it work.
Ellie enthused beforehand: “The Royal Variety Performance has had the most unbelievable list of iconic performers take part over the last 100 years. To be able to be a part of this incredible event is truly an honour.”
Attended by Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Royal Variety Performance 2014 is presented by Michael McIntyre.
Performing alongside Ellie were One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Demi Lovato, Bette Midler, Dame Shirley Bassey, Collabro, McBusted, Jack Whitehall, Russell Kane and Simply Red.
Since the very first event back in 1912, there have been 86 Royal Variety Performances, each attended by a member of the monarchy.
