Magician Impossible Dynamo has shocked his fans by highlighting the shocking impact Crohn's disease is having on his body.

Dynamo, real name Steven Frayne, took to his Instagram page to share a photo of his swollen face with his 754K followers, revealing the impact of one of the side effects of his treatment. Alongside the photo, the magician wrote, '#NoFilter'.

Fans were quick to comment on the post, sending their messages of support for the 35-year-old. One user wrote, 'Must have been very hard to post, but we need more people who are prepared to make this invisible illness a visible one!'. sic

Another added, Horrible illness! Being a Crohns sufferer myself I know the struggles of day to day life having to plan around my illness and everything else that comes with it. Speedy recovery Steven all the best to you 👍✌️'. sic

Crohn's disease is a long-term condition that causes inflammation of the lining of the digestive system, with symptoms such as fatigue, unintended weight loss, diarrhoea and abdominal pain.

Dynamo has suffered from the condition since he was 15-years-old and went through surgery to get half of his stomach removed at the age of 17. However, he's previously admitted that the condition has worsened as he has got older.

The 35-year-old is now on steroid medication but, as he's shown in his recent post, a side effect is weight gain and swelling of the face.

Despite having the illness, Dynamo has previously admitted he doesn't let the condition hold him back. He told The Mirror, "If you've got Crohn's then you just have to get on with it, deal with the negative things that come with it, and not let it change the happiness in your life. You can't help it, it's what it is.

"It's more about affecting the comfort levels of your life. It can be incredibly restrictive, and I know some people with it who can't even leave the house. And that is so sad."

Despite making a number of appearances on TV shows in his early career, the magician's fame catapulted when his TV show Dynamo: Magician Impossible started in July 2011.

Running until September 2014, Dynamo left audiences everywhere in shock with his magic tricks and stunts. In 2011 Dynamo shocked the world when he 'walked on water' on the River Thames.
