Christian Bale 'Snubs' Steve Jobs Movie Role

Just days after screenwriter Aaron Sorkin said Christian Bale is lined up to play Steve Jobs in his upcoming biopic, the British actor has reportedly snubbed the role.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Bale "came to the conclusion he was not right for the part and decided to withdraw" from playing the late Apple co-founder.

The 40-year-old Batman actor is said to have refused the role before negotiations began.

He has become the second actor to pass on Sorkin’s movie after the equally high profile Leonardo DiCaprio exited last month.

Speaking to Bloomberg Television last week, Sorkin said: “We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that’s Chris Bale. He didn’t have to audition. Well, there was a meeting.”

The movie isn’t linked to the widely panned 2013 Steve Jobs biopic, Jobs, which starred Ashton Kutcher as the computer genius.

The film holds a 27% “Rotten” rating on Rotten Tomatoes and Kutcher was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actor at the 34th Golden Raspberry Awards in 2013. Ouch.
