He might be a world famous actor, known for playing the role of Walter White in Breaking Bad, but Bryan Cranston has had enough of signing his autograph for fans.

In a statement posted to his social media accounts Bryan said he was 'Overwhelmed by requests and I just can’t do it anymore.' He went on to say that he loves meeting fans and will personalise photos, 'but that’s all'. However, he did give fans a little bit of hope when he said he would be happy to take a selfie if he saw them 'on the street'!

Bryan's tweet was met by over 1500 comments, with many fans reminiscing about the time they had met the star. One user commented, 'That day in Times Square when you patted me on the chest whilst I wore a Breaking Bad t-shirt. Better than any selfie or signature.👍' whilst another said, 'I met you once and was way too nervous to ask for a pic or a signature - but we had a short pleasant convo and you even asked my name! :)'. sic

Another user said they hoped to bump into him one day on the street, but for the time being she was happy with a signed copy of his book.

Meanwhile, others posted selfies with the Breaking Bad actor.

Bryan joins a growing list of celebrities who have said they won't be signing any more autographs.

Ten years ago former Beatles member Ringo Starr said he wouldn't be signing memorabilia and would throw away fan mail, whilst more recently, actors Steve Martin and Jonah Hill started getting business cards printed with their autograph, so they could hand them out instead of actually signing one.

Meanwhile, whilst Bill Murray will stop and sign his autograph, he doesn't always sign his own name! According to reports, in 2015 he signed 'Miley Cyrus' when asked for his autograph.

Last year Harry Potter star Emma Watson said she would stop posing for selfies. She explained to Vanity Fair, "If someone takes a photograph of me and posts it, within two seconds they've created a marker of exactly where I am within 10 meters."

She went on to say, "I have to carefully pick and choose my moment to interact, children I don't say no to, for example."
