BBC to air final Jeremy Clarkson Top Gear scenes
The footage will be aired this summer
The final footage Jeremy Clarkson filmed before he was 'sacked' by Top Gear will be aired later this year.
According to the BBC, the footage will be broadcast this summer although it remains “incomplete”.
Kim Shillinglaw, controller of BBC Two and BBC Four, said: “No way would I want the available material not to be seen by viewers”.
The BBC made a decision not to renew Clarkson’s contract last month, following an altercation with Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon.
The decision caught the attention of Top Gear fans around with world, with more than one million people signing an online petition to reinstate him.
However after an internal investigation in March, Clarkson was suspended before BBC director general Tony Hall made the decision to let him leave.
Since his departure many have been linked with the position and according to Shillinglaw, it is an “open book” on who may replace the 55-year-old.
She also added: “We’ll definitely look at some women but it’s not a driving priority”.
TV presenter Sue Perkins recently removed herself from Twitter following a stream of online abuse after being linked with the position.
Meanwhile, Clarkson has revealed that he thought he probably had cancer at the time he hit Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon.
Speaking in his latest Sunday Times column, he said the incident came on his “most stressful day… in 27 years at the BBC” but the others facing stress “manage to cope better than I did”.
