Angelina’s award was announced back in June when the Oscar winning actress was co-chairing the End Sexual Violence in Conflict global summit in London with foreign secretary, William Hague.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson has confirmed that Angelina’s husband Brad Pitt and their children joined her at
They said: “The audience itself between Miss Jolie and the Queen was private. Her Majesty presented her with the insignia in its box. Mr Pitt and the rest of the family were introduced to the Queen afterwards, however.”
US Secretary of State John Kerry has described Angelina as a “fierce and fearless advocate” and suggested that her humanitarian work – rather than acting - may prove her lasting legacy.
