A young Lincoln boy has made a direct plea to the Government as his fathers businesses struggles through the pandemic.

He's asking just one question:

"What have we done wrong?"

13 year old James Mank created a video to raise awareness of the lack of support available to people who are self employed and unable to work because of Covid-19.

James said, "enough was enough, I'd heard the figures and the things that have happened to people"

"It's not right, we're the same as everybody else".

His dad, Jonathan, runs a wedding photography businesses.

He said, "It's just scandalous what this government is doing,"

"It's a massive discrimination against us."

"As it prolongs it becomes more torture than anything else."

"It affects your mental health, your anxiety, you don't sleep, you wake up in the middle of the night."

Jonathan said it's even more stressful due to Christmas, "A lot of these people are trying to put food on their table, never mind trying to give a gift to their child"

"Where does the money come from?"

Last week Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced the furlough scheme had been extended until the end of March.

He says grants for self-employed people will be increased too, capped at seven thousand, five hundred pounds.
