Weather warning for Lincolnshire and Newark ahead of stormy end to week
The Met Office is warning us about heavy showers and lightning
We're being warned about a stormy end to the week with a yellow warning for thunderstorms issued for parts of Lincolnshire and Newark for Friday and Saturday.
The Met Office says there could be lightning and heavy showers from 10am on Friday morning until 9 the next morning.
The warning covers Nottinghamshire and most of Lincolnshire, excluding the most southern parts.
What to expect
- Difficult driving conditions and possibly some road closures due to road spray and surface water
- Disruption to public transport where flooding or lightning strikes occur, including cancellations to train and bus services
- There is a small chance of flooding to homes and businesses, with damage to some from floodwater or lightning strikes
