Police confirm Cleethorpes teenager Jamie Nolan as victim of Sunday’s crash

Police have confirmed the identity of the 17-year-old who tragically died in a collision near Wainfleet on Sunday, 26th October.

The teenager has been named as Jamie Nolan, from Cleethorpes.

In an update issued today (Monday, 27th October), Lincolnshire Police said: “We can now confirm the 17-year-old who tragically lost their life in this collision was Jamie Nolan from Cleethorpes.

"Our thoughts remain with his family and friends, and all those who knew him. We'd ask the media to respect the privacy of Jamie's family during this incredibly difficult time.”

Emergency services were called just after 9.30am on Sunday to a single-vehicle collision involving a white Volkswagen Polo at the junction of Burgh Road and Scald Gate on Old Fen Bank, Wainfleet St Mary.

Jamie was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger was taken to hospital with injuries described as potentially life changing.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dash cam footage from the area to come forward.
