United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust declares critical incident
It's due to 'significant' pressures on services

The Trust that looks after Lincolnshire Hospitals, United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, has declared a critical incident.
It's due to what they are calling significant pressures on services.
ULHT Chief Executive Andrew Morgan said:
“Our hospitals are continuing to see exceptionally high levels of demand for our services, particularly in our Emergency Departments.
“Many of these individuals are very unwell and require further treatment, but there remains significant challenges in the number of available beds across our hospitals- a situation that is also reflected nationally across the NHS.
“We continue to do all we can with partner health and care organisations to ensure care is available for those who need it and those who are medically fit for discharge can return home or to another place of care quickly and safely.
“While the majority of our services remain available, there has regrettably been a small impact on routine procedures. Individuals affected by this are being contacted directly by our teams. We continue to review our position to ensure there is no unnecessary impact on those who are waiting for treatment.
“Our colleagues are working exceptionally hard to ensure the safe delivery of care in these challenging circumstances and I thank them for their continued efforts.”
It comes as many ambulance workers and paramedics will take strike action tomorrow. Some staff at East Midlands Ambulance Service which covers Lincolnshire and Newark will be walking out in a row over pay.
Meanwhile The Prime Minister has repeated he'll not budge on NHS pay - as tens of thousands of nurses have been on strike for a second day.
However those across Lincolnshire didn't take part as the ballot amongst nurses in the region failed to reach the threshold for strike action.
Earlier Rishi Sunak's told MPs he cannot increase salaries and risk inflation soaring even further next year.
