Two men have been jailed after they were convicted of killing a man who was dumped into the River Witham in Lincoln.

The body of 45-year-old victim Igors Petrovs was found 3 days later last August.

44-year-old Andrejs Servutas of Monks road has been found guilty of murder and given a life sentence with a minimum of 18 years.

41-year-old Kaspars Spiridonvos of Shuttleworth House was cleared of murder but convicted of manslaughter.

He's facing 15 years in prison.

Christopher Donnellan KC, prosecuting, told the court how Mr Petrovs was beaten up and then unceremoniously dumped into the River Witham after his bike was first thrown into the water.

Much of the attack was caught on surrounding CCTV and medical experts were unable to conclusively establish if Mr Petrovs drowned or was already dying from his injuries when he landed in the water.
