Two Grimsby men jailed for their part in two burglaries
In one a man was slashed with a machete
Two Grimsby men have been jailed for their part in two burglaries in the town - one of which saw a man slashed with a machete.
In September 2021 a couple were asleep at their home on Sherwood Road when masked men burst through the door, and demanded money before the attack took place leaving the victim with serious injuries.
24-year-old Aaron Page of Redbourne Road pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to his part in this incident and was sentenced to six years and nine months.
Dillon (also known as Dylan) Gregersen, aged 23, of Lincoln Boulevard was found guilty of a previous burglary at the property and was given two and a half years.
Speaking after the sentencing is the Officer in the Case (OIC), Detective Constable Nigel Morgan, he said:
“This was a particularly nasty burglary where the victim could very easily have lost his life from the injuries.
“I am pleased to be able to have brought the case before the court and seek justice for the victims, who have been extremely brave and patient throughout the progress of the case.
“Aaron Page and Dillon Gregersen are extremely dangerous individuals who would stop at nothing to get what they wanted.
“These sentences reflect the seriousness of the case and I hope it gives the victims some sense of justice having been served. I also hope it gives both Page and Gregersen time to look at their life-choices and spend their time in jail reforming.”
