Tributes are being paid to a Boston nurse, who died after catching Covid-19 one year ago today.

Anuj Kumar passed away last April.

A fundraiser was set-up to support his wife and two children.

£30,000 was the target, but almost £48,000 was raised.

His family and colleagues say he was 'funny', 'caring' and 'passionate'.

Jessie Williams worked with him for 10 years.

"At first it was pure shock to be quite honest.

"You don’t think it will happen to someone that you work with or someone that you’re really close with as a friend.

"It did leave a very, very dark cloud upon the whole of fifth floor.

"It was just a really awful time.

"It was really distressing because you were praying every day, hoping that he’ll pull through and unfortunately, he didn’t."

"He was funny, very caring, passionate"

She's joining many others in paying tribute.

"Everyone says someone’s great, but he was really great.

"He was funny, very caring, passionate, a great colleague to work with.

"There was never a dull day with him, he was good at cracking jokes.

"He was just an all-round really good guy."

"Everyone says someone’s great, but he was really great"
