Thousands of runners will line up in Cleethorpes today for the Humber Coastal Half Marathon.

The event will help raise money for charities and the good causes.

Katharine Wheatcroft is running for the MND association after her best friend was diagnosed: "We've been friends since we were 5 years old and she has always been there for me. I felt like I wanted to give something back to her, I wanted to raise awareness about her condition but also about motoneuron itself."

"She's really inspiration, days are hard for her, she was always fiercely independent person, she was always out and about doing things, when she was diagnosed her life changed dramatically but she didn't let it get her down."

"This disease doesn't take any prisoners, it doesn't care if you are the fittest person in the world. We need to understand more about it, so the more money we raise for investigations, it's important."
