16-year-old boy who died in collision in Grimsby named

A teenage cyclist who died after a collision in Grimsby has been named by his family as 16-year-old Rhys Shepherd.

Police were called out to a reports that a bus and a cyclist were involved in a collision just before 9am on Monday 11th September.

It reportedly happened at the junction of Laceby Road with Norwich Avenue.

Emergency services were deployed to the scene but despite their efforts, the cyclist, Rhys, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Humberside Police have said:

We would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision, or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with our enquires to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 110 of 11 September."
