Spalding International Cat Show returns for it's fifth championship
"Purring in a Winter Wonderland" is happening this weekend
Spalding's International Cat Show "Purring in a Winter Wonderland" is back for it's 5th Championship.
Judges from Austria, Canada and the USA will be in Lincolnshire to look at each cat and assess it according to the breed standard.
Each breed has its own “Standard Of Points” and the judges are looking to ensure each cat meets those standards, for their own breed.
Non-pedigree, household pet cats, are judged on presentation and temperament across 5 judging rings.
Organiser Stefen Winman tells us more:
"Each cat will be judged against it's own breed and type and then it will go to a final and that will be for, household pet kittens, household pets, pedigree kittens, pedigree alters and pedigree cats."
"We also have a big marque, an enclosed area where cats will be doing agility so over jumps through a weave, over a catwalk, through a tunnel, exactly like they do with dogs at Crufts."
There's expected to be around 150 cats over the weekend, with over 1000 people set to enjoy the show and local exhibiters which include everything from cat accessories and toys to tea and cake.
