If you're a fan of furry friends, then you can find yourself surrounded in them this weekend at Spalding's International Cat Show.

The event is returning for it's second championship, with judges from Austria, and the USA coming to the county.

Organiser Stefen Winman tells us more:

"It's a social event, it's a chance for like-minded people to get together, with their cats, and have a laugh, and spend a weekend drinking tea, eating cake and chatting about cats.

"We have new venders. We've got a new venue, as well. Obviously, we've moved now to the Springfield's events and conference centre. So, we've got a bigger venue, with beautiful lighting, heating, great sounds, great space, great parking, great staff, great café - everything's great."

There's expected to be over 100 whiskered pets, and they'll be competing for titles and prizes across 5 judging rings.

Stefen continued, and told us what the event is like and how it works:

"Basically, the way it works is, people bring their cats in, they bench their cats in their own pen, then the cats are then called up by a number and are judged by breed, by colour, by division, so it's a type, so a Tabby or plain colour, long hair, short hair and out of that, they can win prizes.

"This is the second time we've run the show, the first one was in 2019, that was at Spalding Gramma School, and it was great. It was really, really successful. We've seen the things that other people have done with the shows and we've taken all of the good bits and dumped all of the bad bits and tried to make something really unique."
