Two arrested after Spalding assault left man hospitalised

Two people have been arrested and charged with causing grievous bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker after an assault in Spalding.

The incident happened on Tuesday (24th June) at around 9.45pm.

Lincolnshire police say they received a report that a man had been assaulted at a Travelodge at the Springfield Outlet Centre.

The victim was hospitalised and still remains there with injuries.

A Lincolnshire police spokesperson said: "24-year-old Danny Lodge of Bishops Way in London and 42-year-old Leanne Thornton of Low Gate in Gosberton, was arrested on the evening of Tuesday 24th June.

"Both were charged with causing grievous bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker. Lodge has also been charged with perverting the course of justice.

"Lodge and Thornton were remanded into custody until their next hearing.

"We are also appealing for other witnesses to come forward if they haven't yet been in touch.
