It's back to school for most children across Lincolnshire and Newark this week.

We've been hearing how parents are having to fork out hundreds of pounds to get their youngsters ready for the start of a new school year.

Research from a national money lender has found that four in ten parents don't know how they'll afford to buys things like uniforms or stationery.

Linda Hardwick runs a Uniform Swap Shop from Generations Church in Louth.

We've been speaking to her about the situation.

She told us: "A lady came in - she didn't know what she was going to do."

"She'd been given a voucher for 80 pounds - but that just doesn't buy everything you need."

"She came to us and she just burst into tears."

Some of the people who've come have been reduced to tears because they just didn't know how they'd afford the uniform

"She reduced me to tears because of her reaction."

"Last year we probably only had ten at our busiest time but this year it's been more than 15 and it's been overwhelming."

"Some of the people who've come have been reduced to tears because they just didn't know how they'd afford the uniform."

"It's just so good to be helping these people."

"One lady came - she had twins who were going up to a secondary school."

"Both needed blazers, trousers etc - she did not know how she was going to afford it."

"We were able to help her out."
