Scunthorpe United have revealed their new manager, Keith Hill is the man charged with keeping the Iron in league football.

He previously managed Tranmere before leaving earlier this year.

It follows the sacking of Neil Cox on Monday after a disappointing run which sees Scunthorpe currently at the bottom of league 2.

So what do we know about the new man in charge?

Well firstly he's very experienced.

He's overseen more than 700 games as a manager.

Not only has he taken the helm at Tranmere but his CV includes stints at Rochdale, Barnsley and Bolton.

Hill's also overseen 2 promotions from League 2 whilst helping Rochdale to promotion.

He did reasonably well last season at Tranmere.

The club finished 7th and made the play offs.

However at that stage they decided to part company with Hill.

Tranmere then lost the play off semi final over 2 legs to Morecambe.

So Hill has experience of dealing with League 2, now he has to turn around what's been a disappointing season so far at Scunthorpe

Currently the Iron are bottom of the football league.

So far this season they only have 2 wins in league 2.

This is a big disappointment for a side who were in the championship just over ten years ago.

So a tough battle ahead but one which fans will be hoping Keith Hill can rise to and win.
