Lincolnshire Federation of Small Businesses react to the Queen's Speech
They include concerns about "levelling up"
The Federation of Small businesses across Lincolnshire says there is still a way to go to 'level up' the area.
It follows yesterdays Queen's Speech.
Katrina Pearce is FSB development manager for the county and also Northern Lincolnshire she says there were positive words about small businesses but there needs to be more help.
She told us: "We need to see far more done to encourage businesses to invest to grow and are we seeing enough start ups to counter the thousands that were lost during the lockdown, hundreds of those in our region alone?".
"It's time to see some meaningful action to combat that".
"Levelling up across the UK and particularly in areas like East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire has been rightly escalated and that agenda has been pushed forward but really are they genuinely improving high streets?".
"Do community businesses feel empowered to invest, expand and take on new jobs?".
"When cash flow is as tight as it is for small businesses across our region a missed payment or delayed payment of 80 days, 180 days, 200 days can frankly put businesses out of business."
"We need to see that stopped".
