Praise for people across Lincolnshire who've helped support Afghan refugees
Volunteers say they've been overwhelmed with the county's generosity
Volunteers in Lincolnshire collecting for Afghan refugees say they've been overwhelmed with how generous the county has been.
The region's councils are looking to take in at least 14 families in response to the crisis.
We spoke to Shereen Ajumal from Sleaford Islamic centre.
She told us "we've had everything from Jimmy Choos, new shoes, new coats, people have been so generous ",
"It's overwhelming and we have been so grateful for having a brilliant community and I can only thank one and all".
"These people being relocated from Afghanistan are normal people who in a matter of days have seen their lives turned upside down".
"We didn't want to be silent spectators, each one of us wanted to do something".
