Police officer believed to have suffered serious injuries during Cleethorpes arrest

Humberside Police say a knife was swung at officers as they made an arrest on Monday

A man has been charged after a police officer suffered what are believed to be serious injuries in Cleethorpes.

Emergency services were called to reports of an altercation in Sidney Street on Monday 3rd November 2025.

Humberside Police say it's reported that at around 12.45pm that day, a man swung a knife at officers as they tried to make an arrest. That's believed to have resulted in serious injuries.

Nathan Meakin, who's 30 and from Grafton Street in Grimsby, has been charged with grievous bodily harm without intent, attempt wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article.

He has been remanded into prison to appear at court at a later date following an appearance at Grimsby Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday 5th November 2025).
