Police find report of 'mass killing' at Chapel St Leonards was actually people laying down at a yoga class

Police called out to reports of serious injuries at Chapel St Leonards discovered it was actually a group of people laying down during a yoga class.

It happened around 9pm yesterday at the North Sea Observatory.

People got the shock of their lives when officers turned up to see if they were all right.

Thankfully it wasn't a violent crime spree but participants doing the likes of downward dog.

Officers reported every one was safe and well.

The force says the call was made with good intentions.

The North Sea Observatory café has thanked police for their quick response last night and says there are often Yoga classes taking place in the evenings.

Sharing details of what happened on their Facebook page, the café said someone had "reported a mass killing" after seeing people on the floor inside the building.

They wrote: "If anyone heard the mass of police sirens in Chapel St Leonards at 9.30pm last night then please be reassured...

"They were on their way to the Observatory after someone had reported a mass killing in our building, having seen several people laying on the floor... which actually turned out to be the yoga class in meditation.

"Thank you to Lincolnshire Police for their prompt response. I can't imagine for one moment what would have being going through their minds on the way."
