A section of the A1 remains closed in both directions near Colsterworth following a crash involving two lorries.

It happened just before 7am this morning.

One lorry has overturned and has come to rest on its side across both sides of the carriageway. The other lorry has left the road and is down the verge at the side of the carriageway

Two people have been taken to hospital but their injuries are not thought to be serious.

Officers say it will take a 'substantial' amount of time to remove the lorries and their contents.

The road surface will also need to be assessed.

Police say the road will likely to stay shut until at least 7pm this evening between the Harlaxton and the Rutland water turnoffs.

There are diversions in place.
