Health bosses in Lincolnshire say there are now more coronavirus cases across Lincolnshire than at any other time during the pandemic.

Whilst the number of cases across the UK is falling, they're still relatively high in Lincolnshire.

Since Christmas Covid has been reaching some record highs in the region - with up to 15 hundred cases per 100 thousand people more recently.

The Omicron variant is now totally dominant with delta virtually disappearing.

Andy Fox Assistant Director of Public Health in the county says "the peak depends largely on how much people are continuing to get lateral flow tests - we can actually put the brakes on these things".

He says "from around December the 12th omicron was the dominant variant and what we've seen is really all of the cases at the labs are coming back as omicron."

"There is more Covid around (in Lincolnshire) than there has been at any point, certainly if you look at the period of time since Christmas Covid has been hitting record highs in the region".
