Union reps in Northern Lincolnshire are calling for something to be done to make high streets more inviting for shops to stay.

It follows the news Wilko are closing stores including in Scunthorpe, Grantham, Skegness and Cleethorpes.

Craig Thompson is from the GMB union's Hull and East Coast branch.

He told us "what we need is not to keep damaging the high street."

"What we're seeing is a decline in shops on the streets."

"That's concerning, what we need is real investment in the high street."

"What we want to see is real dialogue, meaningful consultation and an outcome that means no staff are bady affected".

"We are having the tough conversations with landlords"

"We're basically saying we need to be investing in the high streets - we need lower rents".
