The conflict in Ukraine has affected many of us.

However for people who have friends or family out there it's been particularly frightening.

We've spoken to Zoia who lives in Barrow On Humber North Lincolnshire.

She's told us more medical supplies are urgently needed.

Zoia has been baking traditional cakes every day to sell and raise money.

She says "I feel terrible, it's not possible to say exactly what I feel - there aren't words".

"Of course I'm very proud of my country and my people, it is very brave".

"And our president Zelenskyy, he is a natural President for our country."

"We need to do something, help each other, do something positive and strong".

"Everyday I speak (to people in the Ukraine) sometimes the connection is terrible but I also write".

"I try and speak everyday".
