A North East Lincolnshire haulage company is planning to take donations over to Ukraine.

Every week starting from this Friday, Drivers at Stallingborough will deliver vital goods through customs to the neutral zone between Poland and Ukraine.

Brian Hosford is from Smeets Ferry Ltd, he said:

"As a European haulage company we are offering our logistic services to get Aid from both our depots in the UK to Ukraine. Please help the people of Ukraine.

"Actions instead of words Smeets Ferry will do everything in its power to help the Ukrainian people. We have decided to make our Logistics System available for continuous humanitarian aid. Every week, our trucks and Drivers will deliver vital goods to the neutral zone between Poland and Ukraine.

"Our colleagues in Ukraine then take over the distribution of the goods and ensure that everything gets to the right place quickly.

The company is also urging for people to look out for Ukrainian lorry drivers if they’re found stranded.

"If any of you SEE or KNOW a Ukraine driver that is stuck in this country, please give them my details and we will make sure he has a safe place to park, will be given food and looked after."
